Fatale
Fatale is a Brazilian rock project that begins in 2003 under the name Pepita, when Nando Gabriel enters the studio to record what becomes the first demo of his solo career. The project develops from Gabriel’s interest in grunge, with influences including Pearl Jam, Alter Bridge and Creed, and moves from a solo concept into a full band after the interest of early producers Tito Falaschi and Alexandre Ache.
The project goes through several names, including Bravo!, Horus, Evil Joe and Machina, before adopting Fatale. The line-up is built later, rather than being complete from the start, and includes producer and guitarist Paulo Soares, who works on production and composition alongside Nando Gabriel and Tito Falaschi. Ricardo de Paula Souza also becomes involved as a video producer and investor, helping to give the project renewed momentum.
Among the songs developed in the early phase are “Encontro Marcado”, a Nando Gabriel composition adapted by Tito Falaschi, along with “Sonhando Pra Viver” and “Vagando na Escuridão”, which is described as an early lead track. The project works on material intended for a first album of 12 songs, and promotes its music in São Paulo state and across Brazil. Fatale is also associated with experimental noise and electronic approaches, and the name is shared by other acts, including a French electro band and an experimental noise project.
