Fatal Smile

Fatal Smile are a Swedish hard rock and heavy metal group from Katrineholm, active since 1995. The band is formed by guitarist Y, and by 2007 the line-up includes Alx on bass, Blade on vocals and Zteff on drums. Their sound sits within hard rock, heavy metal and glam metal, and the band is associated with Sweden’s hard rock scene.

Career

Fatal Smile form in 1995 and quickly begin writing songs and performing live. They secure a deal with a Swedish label and release their debut album, Beyond Reality, in 2002. The album is produced by Jonas Östman, who is also known for work with Yngwie Malmsteen, and it receives a strong reaction internationally.

After the debut, the band tour with a mix of headline shows, support slots and festival appearances. They play the New Jersey Metal Meltdown festival in 2003, which leads to a three-week headlining tour of the United States covering 16 shows in 21 days, from Florida to New Jersey.

Neo Natural Freaks

Back in Sweden, the band write material for their second album. Neo Natural Freaks is again produced by Jonas Östman and mixed by Stefan Glaumann, whose work includes Rammstein and Backyard Babies. The first release from the album is the single and video Learn - Love - Hate, which reaches number four on the singles chart and stays in the top 20 for four weeks. The album follows in 2006 and is supported by extensive touring in Europe, Scandinavia and Japan.

World Domination

In 2007, Y forms a new line-up with Alx, Blade and Zteff and records World Domination. The album is produced by Y and mixed by Michael Wagener, whose credits include Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne and Mötley Crüe.

Fatal Smile describe a hard rock sound shaped by the music they grow up with, while aiming to push the genre in new directions. Their work combines hard rock, heavy metal and glam metal influences.
