Faouzia (born 5 July 2000) is a Moroccan-Canadian singer, songwriter and producer. Known for her powerful vocal range, cinematic songwriting and multilingual artistry, she has built an international following through a blend of pop, alternative pop, art pop and contemporary influences drawn from both Western and Arabic music traditions.
Born in Morocco and raised in Manitoba, Canada, Faouzia developed an interest in music from an early age. She began writing songs, playing piano and producing music as a teenager, often sharing original material online. Her early work quickly attracted attention for its emotional intensity, intricate melodies and technically demanding vocal performances.
Faouzia first gained recognition through independent releases such as Knock On My Door, My Heart's Grave, This Mountain and Born Without a Heart. Film Noir (2025)
On 7 November 2025, Faouzia released her debut studio album, Film Noir, independently. Marking her first full-length project after years of singles and EPs, the album represented a major milestone in her career and a statement of creative independence.
The record featured the singles Porcelain, Unethical, Peace & Violence and Don't Ever Leave Me. Drawing inspiration from classic noir cinema, the album explored themes of emotional conflict, betrayal, longing, vulnerability and self-preservation through cinematic production and introspective songwriting.
Upon release, Film Noir received positive reviews for its cohesive storytelling, ambitious artistic vision and vocal performances, with many critics describing it as her most fully realized work to date.
Film Noir (fin) (2026)
Released on 12 June 2026, Film Noir (fin) served as the deluxe reissue and concluding chapter of the Film Noir era. Featuring three additional tracks, the project acted as an epilogue to the original album, shifting its focus toward themes of healing, acceptance and emotional closure.
Described by Faouzia as a collection of "afterthoughts," the release expanded the narrative of Film Noir while offering a bridge toward a new creative chapter. Critics praised the project's emotional maturity and its ability to provide a meaningful conclusion to the album's story.
Faouzia is widely recognized for her vocal versatility, multilingual performances and cinematic approach to songwriting. Her music often combines orchestral arrangements, contemporary pop production and deeply personal lyricism, establishing her as one of the most distinctive voices of her generation.
