Fanny Lumsden is an Australian country singer-songwriter from New South Wales, born Edwina Margaret Lumsden in Warren, NSW. She also records as Fanny Lumsden & The Thrillseekers.
Albums and releases
Her debut solo album, Small Town Big Shot, is released in 2015 and reaches No. 6 on the ARIA Country Chart and No. 15 on the AIR independent chart. It also spends around five weeks in the iTunes top 100, peaking at No. 20. Her second album, Real Class Act, is released in 2017 and later wins the AIR Independent Country Album award for 2018. It is also nominated for Best Country Album at the 2018 ARIA Music Awards.
Her third studio album, Fallow, is a key release in her catalogue and wins the ARIA Award for Best Country Album in 2020, the AIR Award for Best Country Album, and five CMAA Golden Guitar Awards in 2021, including Album of the Year. Fallow is also the album she is best known for.
Awards and recognition
Lumsden wins her first Golden Guitar in 2017, taking out New Talent of the Year. Later in 2017, she receives three further Golden Guitar nominations. Her work also attracts critical attention on release, with Small Town Big Shot described in the country press as especially strong and impressive.
