Faces

Faces are a British rock group from London active from 1969 to 1975. They emerge from the remaining members of Small Faces after Steve Marriott leaves to form Humble Pie, and they continue with new additions Ron Wood on guitar and Rod Stewart on vocals, both previously in The Jeff Beck Group. The core line-up includes Ronnie Lane on bass, Ian McLagan on keyboards and Kenny Jones on drums, alongside Stewart and Wood. The group also includes 山内テツ.

The name Faces refers to well-known people about town, while the earlier Small Faces name reflects the members’ shorter stature. When Stewart and Wood join, the band drops the word “Small” and becomes Faces, although its first album appears in the United States under the Small Faces name because of a record company error.

The band’s style spans blues rock, boogie rock, classic rock, folk rock, hard rock and rock.
