Fabio & Grooverider are a drum and bass DJ duo from Streatham, United Kingdom. They begin working together in 1987 after meeting at Phase One, a pirate radio station that also features Colin Dale and David Angel. Fabio plays funk and soul records over Grooverider’s hip hop beats, and the pair then move into DJing together as acid house develops.

They start at Mendoza’s, an after-hours venue in Brixton associated with the Shoom crowd, and then play many of the major raves. Their sets mix Detroit house and early rave, and they also perform widely on the rave and house circuits both together and separately.

The duo are closely linked with the development of the UK dance music scene, especially early breakbeat and drum and bass. They lay down early European techno in 1989 and help develop the first UK breakbeat at the Rage club night in 1991. Their work also contributes to the establishment of house and techno in the UK, alongside the early breakbeat scene.
