Ezza

Ezza is a group associated with blues rock, Touareg, and Niger. The act is identified with Esther A. V. Moraes, who lives in India and is also known by that name in official records. Ezza begins singing at the age of three and is described as having an untrained vocal style.

Style and performance

The group is noted for a voice described as gentle, controlled, deep, and sensual, with a calm delivery and strong vocal projection. The singing is characterised by sustained phrases and gradual rises in tone. Ezza also occasionally works with poetry.

Recording activity

Ezza has recorded little. Among the named later recordings is a cover of John Denver’s “Annie’s Song”. Joshua, Ezza’s brother, occasionally plays guitar accompaniment on a few chords, while the vocals remain the central element.
