Evaline

Evaline are an alternative rock band from Turlock, California, in the United States. Their line-up includes Richard Perry on vocals, cello and keys, Dominic DiCiano on guitar, Steven Pedersen on bass, Christian Lewis on guitar, Greg Petersen on drums and Dan Petersen on guitar. Steve Forrest is also associated with the group.

Early recordings and first releases

The band’s earliest recordings reach Quinn Allman of The Used, who produces the EP Postpartum Modesty, A Portrait of Skin. That release appears on Madonna’s Maverick label in 2006. Evaline then play two Warped Tours and a Taste of Chaos tour, which helps them build a loyal following in the United States.

Line-up changes and later work

After that period, Greg Petersen joins the band and replaces Steve Forrest on drums. Following the end of Maverick, Evaline rework their sound and return with songs built around layered textures, prominent guitars and vocal harmonies. During this time, Daniel Petersen is added on baritone guitar.

Their EP Patterned follows, with the tracks “Hours”, “Beneath the Fire” and “Patterned”. Evaline record their debut album Woven Material with producer Dan Austin, known for work with Cherry Ghost and Doves. The album is released in 2011.

Live activity

Evaline tour widely in the United States and the UK, sharing bills with Deftones, Dredg, Neon Trees, Paper Tongues, Dir en Grey, Placebo and Young Guns. Their live shows are noted for strong energy, alongside polished studio recordings.
