Eskimo Fandango

Eskimo Fandango is a United States group associated with Joe Lynn Turner’s late 1970s AOR band. The group includes Rick Blakemore, Dennis La Rue and Joe Lynn Turner, and it is active from 1976 to the present.

Background

The band is described as forming in a basement in 2011 through songwriter Luke Hirst, although its authorised origin and membership place it as a U.S. act centred on the three listed members. It is based around a love of Buddy Holly, Brian Wilson and Rivers Cuomo, and its stated aim is to write pop songs and perform them live. The group comes from Bradford.

Earlier work

Before the band formed, Luke Hirst releases a debut album of summer-influenced power pop, which attracts favourable attention and is described as showing potential to move from local recognition to wider national respect. The band then develops a newer sound and more personal songs.
