Emma Ruth Rundle
Emma Ruth Rundle is a US singer-songwriter, guitarist and visual artist from Los Angeles, California. She is based in Portland, Oregon and works across ambient, contemporary folk, dream pop, experimental, folk and folk rock.
Career
Rundle is a member of Red Sparowes and Marriages, and was formerly part of The Nocturnes. She also records under the name The Headless Prince of Zolpidem, releasing one darkwave album under that alias.
Her solo work begins with Electric Guitar: One, a collection of improvised guitar-based ambient pieces recorded over six weeks while touring Europe with Red Sparowes in late 2010. She then releases her first solo studio album, Some Heavy Ocean, followed by Marked for Death in 2016. In February 2017 she issues the split EP The Time Between Us with Jaye Jayle.
On Dark Horses appears in 2018. It includes contributions from Evan Patterson and Todd Cook of Jaye Jayle, along with Dylan Nadon of Wovenhand. That same year, Rundle provides backing vocals on “Just Breathe”, a track from Thrice’s album Palms.
Other work
In 2019, Roadburn Festival names Rundle as one of two curators for its 2020 edition before that event is cancelled. Her solo releases appear on Sargent House, Errant Child and Emma Ruth Rundle Music.
