Elifantree

Elifantree are a Finnish trio from Helsinki. Active since 2007, the group records on Eclipse Music and is associated with contemporary jazz, jazz and vocal jazz, while also drawing on experimental approaches, acoustic textures and improvisation.

The band works at the boundary between pop and improvised music, building songs from social criticism, surreal elements and ambient sound. Their live performances have taken them widely across Europe and beyond, where they gain a reputation for an energetic and unpredictable stage presence.

Elifantree release three albums: Love & Trees, Time Out and Movers and Shakers. The last of these develops a more danceable style while still revealing the group’s jazz background. The band is led by Anni Elif.

They are compared to David Lynch, Charlie Chaplin and Pablo Picasso.
