Echo Lake
Echo Lake is a United Kingdom group active since 2010. The line-up includes Peter Hayes, Thom Hill and Linda Jarvis. The project forms in late 2010 after Thom Hill and Linda Jarvis meet while studying at art school in South London. It develops as a songwriting and recording duo, later expanding to a five-piece for live performances.
The group signs to the London label No Pain In Pop. Their sound is associated with shoegaze, dream pop, psychedelic and ambient pop, and also draws on dense indie-rock production and layered vocals. Hill’s production is described as combining Brian Wilson and Galaxie 500 influences, while Jarvis contributes an emotive, cavernous voice. Echo Lake’s recordings are noted for their dense, floating textures and interweaving layers.
The debut album, Wild Peace, arrives about fourteen months after the group forms and establishes their profile. Their second album, Era, follows in 2015.
