Dyonisis

Dyonisis are a Sheffield gothic rock group active since 2000. Their music combines rock, trip-hop and folk with a sound they describe as ethereal rock, built around gentle, hypnotic arrangements and dual vocal harmonies.

Style and line-up

The band’s recordings and performances feature the contrasting voices of Nel and Lou, whose personal lyrics and melodic approach sit over a mix of organic and electronic elements. Louisa provides classically influenced vocals, set against Nel’s more vulnerable and eccentric delivery. Marcus plays rolling bass lines, while Tom adds shimmering guitars and programmed beats.

Releases

Dyonisis release a self-titled debut album in 2007, followed by their second album, Intoxicated.
