Ducking Punches is a folk, folk punk and punk group from Norwich, United Kingdom. The project begins as a solo acoustic outlet for guitarist and vocalist Dan Allen before expanding into a punk, folk and rock quintet.

Background

The band builds its sound around speed, melody and dynamics, using violins, gang vocals and amplified arrangements while keeping the pace associated with its earlier acoustic work. It performs with a line-up that includes Dan Allen, Cal Hudson, Sophie Porter, Sergio Tauroza and Pete Wright.

Live activity and releases

The group plays more than 1,000 shows and appears at major festivals including Reading, Leeds, Download, Groezrock and FEST. It also tours Europe with Frank Turner and Andrew Jackson Jihad in 2014, and supports acts such as The Hold Steady, The Menzingers, Teenage Bottlerocket, Franz Nicolay and Leatherface.

Ducking Punches releases three albums, including Fizzy Brain, its first album on XMR.
