Dubba Jonny is a two-piece dubstep act from Bournemouth. The duo forms in November 2009 and performs as a live band, combining DJ-style performance with live electronics and live drumming. The line-up consists of Dubba The Slut on drums and producer and DJ Jonny Gash.

Style and performance

The act works within dubstep, with links to electronic music, drum and bass and filthstep. Its live setup is built around mixing DJ elements with live instrumentation, especially drums, which gives the performances a more band-like format than a standard club set.

Releases and recognition

Dubba Jonny gains attention through a series of online tracks and support from major figures in dubstep promotion. The single Home becomes its best-known track after building as an online and club hit through video sharing promotion. The duo also signs a series of songs to labels including Velcro City, a label associated with drum and bass artists In Context and Deep Focus.

Live activity

The act starts out in the house party scene in Bournemouth and goes on to headline clubs across the country.
