Drink The Sea

Drink The Sea is a supergroup formed by Peter Buck and Barrett Martin, who previously work together in other projects. The line-up also includes Alain Johannes, Duke Garwood and percussionist Lisette Garcia, with David Catching contributing slide guitar.

The band follows Buck and Martin’s earlier supergroup Silverlites, which also includes Rich Robinson of the Black Crowes and singer-songwriter Joseph Arthur. Drink The Sea’s debut single, “Outside Again”, is released in 2025, and the group has two debut albums, Drink The Sea I and Drink The Sea II, planned as part of its first release cycle.

Peter Buck is known for his work with R.E.M. and The Minus 5. Barrett Martin is associated with Screaming Trees and Mad Season. Alain Johannes is a founding member of Eleven and also performs live with Them Crooked Vultures alongside Josh Homme, John Paul Jones and Dave Grohl. Duke Garwood is a British multi-instrumentalist with six studio albums and collaborations with Mark Lanegan and The Orb.
