Dregen is the stage name of Andreas Tyrone Svensson, a Swedish rock guitarist from Nässjö, Sweden, born in 1973. He is associated with hard rock, glam punk and rock and roll, and is known for his work with Backyard Babies, The Hellacopters and Michael Monroe’s band.
Career
Dregen forms Backyard Babies with his childhood friends Nicke Borg, Peder Carlsson and Johan Blomqvist in Nässjö before the group moves to Stockholm to seek wider success. The band signs a record deal and releases its debut album, Diesel & Power, in 1994. Dregen remains a member of Backyard Babies and has said the band comes together again and becomes stronger than ever.
In 1994, Dregen meets singer and guitarist Nicke Andersson, who is then playing drums with the Swedish death metal band Entombed. The two form The Hellacopters, and the band later breaks through with Supershitty to the Max!, which wins a Grammis. The Hellacopters follow it with Payin' the Dues in 1997 and also tour with KISS. By the end of the 1990s, Dregen leaves The Hellacopters and focuses on Backyard Babies.
Backyard Babies go on to release Total 13, which also wins a Grammis, and then Making Enemies Is Good in 2001, which brings them another Grammis. The band tours widely and also supports AC/DC on a European tour. Later releases include Stockholm Syndrome, People Like People Like People Like Us, Backyard Babies and Them XX. The latter leads to an anniversary tour in 2010, after which the band announces an indefinite hiatus.
In May 2011, Dregen joins Michael Monroe, replacing Ginger as guitarist. Monroe describes him as the right choice for the band, and Dregen also works on a solo album.

His recorded and group credits also include Super$hit 666, Midlife Crisis, The Poet and the Dragon, and Kurt Sunes med Helveteshundarna.
