Dot Product

Dot Product is a United Kingdom group associated with dark ambient and related experimental sound work. It is conceived by Bristol-based producers Adam Winchester and Chris Jarman, and focuses on compositions built from frequencies and anomalies that are commonly inaudible to the human ear.

Sound and approach

The project works with discarded and overlooked sound sources, turning them into sharp-edged, rough-hewn tracks. Its material is shaped to combine soundsystem pressure with abstract textures, and it draws on the mood of industrial music while avoiding the usual sheet-metal and machinery imagery often associated with that style.

Dot Product also explores more unusual sonic ideas, including the internal resonance of objects and the invisible fog of electromagnetic radiation, treating these as material for musical composition.
