DJ Kaz

DJ Kaz is the DJ project of Keith Brady, who turns his attention to DJing in 2005. He begins by releasing mixed CDs that circulate widely in Ireland, and these recordings become discussed on radio and television programmes including The Adrian Kennedy Show, The Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Marian Finucane Show and The Late Late Show. He does not appear on those shows, citing a lack of technology.

Performances and activity

Demand for his sets grows and, in the summer of 2006, he begins touring on the condition that he only plays in County Cavan. Venues across Cavan book him, and audiences travel from across Ireland to see him perform. His profile leads to a contract with Springs Niteclub in Crosskeys, said to run for two years and to be worth 6.7 million. After that contract ends, he plays exclusive gigs at DKIT, Silence and in Cavan.

Teaching and collaborations

DJ Kaz also shares DJing knowledge with students at DKIT alongside Chris McGrath. The sessions are presented as limited and costly, with access described as restricted to students from wealthy and successful backgrounds.

Place in the local club scene

His popularity helps turn Crosskeys into a notable club destination, alongside places such as Ibiza, Miami and Ayia Napa.
