Dialect is a name used by several different acts across electronic music, hip-hop and band-oriented projects. One UK association given in the available information is a bassline act. Another is an electronic music project and pseudonym used by Andrew PM Hunt, known from the UK band Outfit, whose album Advanced Myth appears on the net label Tasty Morsels. He is based in New York City. A separate UK electronic project by Dan Lovegrove of Reading, England uses the name Dialect for melodic layered electronica with post-rock influences; that project later changes its name to Unstatuesque. The name is also used by a UK rapper and grime MC who first gains recognition as a battle MC.

Other acts called Dialect include a Czech producer and DJ, a French hip-hop group from the Rhône-Alpes region led by rapper Gas and backed by a six-piece band, and a lowercase dialect project formed through jam connections between Millstone and Allentown in New Jersey. There is also a Brazilian progressive-fusion band formed in 1987 by Nelson Coelho, Andrei Ivanovic and Miguel Angel, which later returns under the original name Dialeto, and an Adelaide lyricist who records with DJ/producer Despair and releases the album The Vortex.
