Diagonal

Diagonal is a name used by several bands in different countries and styles. One version is a Brighton-based seven-piece progressive jazz-rock group, with woodwinds, guitars, basses, drums, vocals, synths, pianos and organs in its line-up. Another is a six-piece psychedelic band from Chicago, whose self-titled album appears on Little Cloud Records and combines psych rock, quieter passages and krautrock elements. A third is a Brazilian band from São Paulo, active from 1999 to 2004, whose four members draw on post-punk and post-hardcore, with influences including Gang of Four and Jawbox, and whose music explores new textures and approaches.
