Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows (aka D.R.U.G.S.) were a rock supergroup created by Craig Owens in 2010 in Pontiac, Michigan. They released their debut album D.R.U.G.S. on February 22, 2011.
The band's members were originally announced in several YouTube video updates on Craig Owens' channel. The band's original lineup was Craig Owens (ex-Chiodos, Cinematic Sunrise, Isles & Glaciers), Matt Good (ex-From First to Last), Aaron Stern (ex-Matchbook Romance), and Nick Martin (ex-Underminded, Isles & Glaciers), with Adam Russel (Story of the Year) being the band's latest addition.
The band's first single, released November 11, 2010, was "If You Think This Song Is About You, It Probably Is." An official music video was uploaded to the band's YouTube channel on December 2 with the uncensored, short film version also being made available on their official website. On December 6, 2010, they released their second single, "Mr. Owl Ate My Metal Worm." With these two songs being the band's only official singles, they went on their Rise From the Ashes Tour across North America with Eyes Set to Kill and New Medicine.
The next single released was "Sex Life" and "My Swagger Has a First Name" was also released to all those who pre-ordered the album. The album was finally released through Decaydance/Sire Records.
They then went on a UK tour from March 4-10, played at SXSW on March 16, and joined the 2011 AP Tour headlined by Black Veil Brides with supporting bands I See Stars, VersaEmerge, and Conditions, which ran from March 18 to April 29.
On July 12, a live EP Live From Hot Topic was released. This EP is a recording of their performance at the Hot Topic headquarters on December 3, 2010, which would be the band's second ever show - their second official gig was also scheduled the same day at The Key Club.
The band is on the 2011 Vans Warped Tour until August 11 and will be playing Soundwave Revolution in Australia.
In the early part of 2012 D.R.U.G.S. went on a nation wide tour called the Strenght in Numbers tour (S.I.N.)tour with supporting acts Hit the Lights, Like Moths to Flames, Sparks the Rescue, and The Action Blast (an up and coming band from Chicago) the tour lasted from Mid January until the early part of March.
On April 27th, 2012, the day after Craig Owens rejoined Chiodos.. the band released this message:
"To our loyal fans and friends,
After much thought and consideration we (Matt Good, Nick Martin and Aaron Stern) have decided to announce that we will be moving on from D.R.U.G.S. This decision has not been easy to make, and we want to express how grateful we are for all of you who have supported us and made this the incredible experience it has been over the past couple of years. We’ll always look back on our time in this band with pride, and have no regrets about the music we’ve made or the people we’ve made it with. We want to thank everyone who has believed in us, and we hope you’ll keep believing in us. We look forward to the future, and we know we’ll be seeing you again soon, no matter where our paths lead next.
With love and gratitude,
Matt, Nick and Aaron"
