Death Valley Girls

Death Valley Girls are a garage rock band from Los Angeles, United States, active since 2013. The group operates with a rotating line-up that includes Sarah Linton, Larry Schemel, Patty Schemel, Rikki Styxx, Sammy Westervelt, Jessie Jones and Nicole Smith. They are associated with Suicide Squeeze Records and are identified with garage rock, alongside garage punk, psychedelic rock and related psych-inflected rock styles.

The band’s music combines proto-punk riffs, melodic hooks, surreal lyrics and auxiliary instrumentation. Their albums include Glow In The Dark, Darkness Rains and Under the Spell of Joy, which present their interest in themes of communal energy, mysticism and resistance to the routine of modern life.
