Dear Superstar

Dear Superstar are a hard rock band from Manchester, UK. Their sound combines classic hard rock with the force of modern metal, and they are also described as drawing on alternative metal and alternative rock.

Career

The band builds a live reputation through extensive touring and appearances at sold-out venues. They perform alongside artists including Mötley Crüe, Metallica, Iron Maiden, KISS and Aerosmith, and they also support Papa Roach, Buckcherry and Bullet For My Valentine on tour.

In 2008, they record their debut album, Heartless, with producer Romesh Dodangoda. The album is intended to document years of touring and the band’s unruly lifestyle. It later comes out through Demolition/DR2 Records and receives critical attention from music press outlets including NME, Kerrang!, Metal Hammer, Rocksound and Classic Rock.

After further touring in 2009, including support dates in the UK and across Europe with Papa Roach and Buckcherry, they sign to the booking agency TKO. That leads to festival appearances at Download Festival, Sonisphere in the UK and Sweden, and Graspop Festival.

Later activity

During 2009 and 2010, the band continues a busy live schedule and opens their own studio, Superstar Studios, to the public. They begin recording the album Damned Religion in the winter of 2010/2011, with darker songwriting shaped by the highs and lows of touring.
