Dead Sea Apes
Dead Sea Apes are an instrumental group from Manchester in the United Kingdom. Formed in 2009, the line-up includes Brett Savage, Chris Hardman and Nick Harris. The group is active from 2009 to the present and releases music on Fruits de Mer Records.
Style and sound
Their music combines drone, experimental rock, instrumental music, jam band elements and psychedelic rock, with a broad sound that also draws on desert rock, garage rock, krautrock, post-rock and western soundtrack influences.
Releases
The group’s releases include Soy Dios, Lupus, The Sun Behind The Sun with Black Tempest, High Evolutionary, Spectral Domain, Sixth Side Of The Pentagon, Recondite, Warheads with Adam Stone, The Free Territory, Night Lands, Dataland with Adam Stone and Black Tempest, and Rewilding. Soy Dios first appears in 2010 and is re-released in 2016.
Membership
Brett Savage plays guitar. Chris Hardman plays drums. Nick Harris plays bass from 2009 to 2017, and Jack Toker plays bass from 2018 onward.
