Darren Tate is an English experimental, drone and ambient musician from the United Kingdom, born in 1966. He makes music under his own name and in collaboration with others, including the projects Ora and Monos. His work has been associated with ambient, trance, experimental, progressive trance and drone.

Music and projects

He has made drone and ambient music since the 1980s. Alongside his solo releases, he works in collaborative formations that include Ora, Monos, Birdcage Walk and Dada Lives. Much of his music appears on his own Fungal label, and he also releases on Ora, Gnome and Nil.
