Dark Sky

Dark Sky is a UK electronic act centred on producer Matt Benyayer. He makes and releases music under the Dark Sky name, works as a DJ and live act, and has been active since 2011. His work sits across electronic styles, with tags including dubstep, future garage, wonky and UK garage.

Releases and labels

Dark Sky releases music on a range of labels, including Monkeytown Records, 50 Weapons, Mister Saturday Night, Pictures Music, Black Acre and Tectonic. Benyayer has released two albums on Monkeytown Records, alongside multiple EPs for other labels.

Remixes and collaborations

He also remixes other artists, including the xx, Kelis and Bombay Bicycle Club. In addition to solo work, he collaborates with Afriquoi. One track from those sessions, Cold Harbour, is chosen by Bonobo for a Fabric mix compilation.

Performance and other work

As a performer, Dark Sky tours internationally and appears at festivals including Glastonbury, Melt, Mutek and Dimensions, as well as at clubs such as Berghain and Fabric. Benyayer also composes music for television and film. In 2020 he shares a mixtape containing unreleased Dark Sky material, and he goes on to focus on releasing tracks from that collection and launching a new record label.
