Dannic

Dannic is the stage name of Daan Romers, a Dutch DJ and producer from Breda, Netherlands. He works in house-oriented electronic dance music, including big room house, Dutch house, EDM and electro house, and releases music on Fonk Recordings as well as labels including Revealed Recordings, Cr2 and Black Hole Recordings.

Early releases and mash-ups

He first gains attention for a series of mash-ups and bootlegs that circulate in DJs’ sets, including versions built around tracks by Axwell, Julie McKnight, Tim Mason, Laidback Luke, Adele, Calvin Harris and The Beatles. These early edits become staples in the sets of Tiësto, Avicii, Hardwell, Nicky Romero and Bingo Players.

In 2009, Romers wins the Dancetour DJ contest and earns a slot playing his productions to an audience of 10,000 people. The following year, his remix of Funkerman’s Automatic wins the Funkerman remix contest and leads to his addition to Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings.

Revealed Recordings and notable tracks

His first solo track on Revealed Recordings is Doster, which receives support from Nicky Romero, Hardwell and Nari & Milani. Another release, WOP, is chosen as the official anthem for the Dutch Riverdance Festival. Pipeline is used as the lead track on Cr2’s 2012 Ibiza compilation, reaches number 18 on the Beatport progressive house chart, and receives strong support from Tiësto.

He also releases Tombo on Revealed Recordings, a track played by Erick Morillo, Chuckie, Fedde Le Grand, Bingo Players, Hardwell, Thomas Gold, Eddie Halliwell and Alex Gaudino.

Collaborations and remixes

In 2012, Dannic collaborates with Hardwell on Kontiki, which reaches the Beatport Top 10 and attracts more than one million views. He and Hardwell also make an official remix of Example’s Say Nothing, which reaches number one in the Cool Cuts chart. He is also linked with a collaboration with Jordy Dazz.

His remix work includes projects for Atlantic Records, Ultra, Armada Music, Ministry of Sound and One Love, with artists including R3hab, Nicky Romero, Chuckie, Example, Arty, Nadia Ali, Helena and Sean Paul. His remix for Helena reaches number one in the Australian Dance Chart.

Career profile

Alongside his productions, Dannic is known for technical DJing and for combining mash-ups with club tracks. He is associated with tours and residencies in major venues, and his work places him within the Dutch DJ scene alongside artists such as Tiësto, Funkerman and Hardwell.
