Crossfaith

Crossfaith is an electronicore and metalcore group from Osaka, Japan, formed in 2006 and active since then. The line-up includes Kenta Koie on vocals, Kazuki Takemura on guitar, Hiroki Ikegawa on bass, Tatsuya Amano on drums, and Terufumi Tamano on keyboards and programming. The group is also associated with the name 小出大樹 in the verified membership list, and Daiki Koide is identified in the bio as joining after Hiroki’s departure.

Style and sound

The band is known for a mix of metalcore, industrial metal, hardcore, metal and electronica, and is commonly described as electronicore. Their sound is presented as a fusion of heavy guitar music with electronic elements.

Releases and recognition

Crossfaith’s third full-length album, Apocalyze, is a key release in their career. It is produced by Machine, who has worked with Lamb of God, Every Time I Die and Four Year Strong. The album is issued in Japan through Search And Destroy Records and in North America through The End, and it becomes the band’s breakthrough release, drawing international acclaim.

In 2012, the band releases the EP Zion as an introduction aimed at a wider overseas audience. The title refers to the human city in The Matrix film series. The EP receives a positive response from mainstream critics including Kerrang! and The Sydney Morning Herald, and it leads to promotional videos for “Monolith”, “Jägerbomb” and “Photosphere”.

Touring and live appearances

Early in their touring history, Crossfaith supports acts including Hatebreed, Machine Head, In This Moment, Bleeding Through, The Used, August Burns Red and Memphis May Fire. In 2012 they tour Europe with Of Mice & Men and Bury Tomorrow, and later support While She Sleeps with Bleed from Within and Polar. They also play Summer Sonic in Japan, where they perform at 3am to a crowd of 10,000. Later in 2012 they appear on the Kevin Says Stage at the Alexandra Palace date of the Warped Tour in London, where the small room fills beyond capacity during their set.
