Craig Charles is an English actor, comedian, author, poet, television presenter and radio DJ from Liverpool. He first appears on television as a performance poet, which leads to minor presenting work before he becomes better known as an actor and broadcaster.

He is best known for playing Dave Lister in the science-fiction sitcom Red Dwarf and Lloyd Mullaney in the soap opera Coronation Street. His other acting work includes the role of inmate Eugene Buffy in the ITV drama The Governor, along with leading parts in the British films Fated and Clubbing to Death.

Charles also builds a broad television career, presenting the gladiator-style game show Robot Wars and narrating Takeshi's Castle. He continues to host his Funk and Soul Show on BBC radio and plays DJ sets at clubs and festivals across the country. His work also connects with spoken word, funk and poetry, and he is associated with the “Just a Minute” team.
