French group

Counterfeit is a French rock band from Lyon. Its sound is described as progressive rock with influences from Tool, Isis and Neurosis. The band has an official website at counterfeit-band.com.

Other acts using the name

Another Counterfeit is an English punk rock band from London, formed in 2015. Its line-up includes lead vocalist and guitarist Jamie Campbell Bower, guitarist Tristan Marmont and bassist Roland Johnson, with drummer Jimmy Craig and guitarist Sam Bower joining later in 2015. The band releases its debut EP, Come Get Some, through Check On and issues its first album in 2017 before splitting in 2020. Jamie Bower then begins releasing music as a solo artist under the name Jamie Bower.

The name is also used by Kevin Van Den Brink, a hardcore and darkcore producer from Holland, by a British synth-pop trio who release The Good Samaritan / Four Years on Creation Records in 1989, by a hardcore punk band that records with Apathemy, by an alternative metal band from Lyon active from 2004 to 2006, and as one of the aliases of Dutch hardcore and gabber producer and DJ Rob Verhoeven, alongside names such as DJ Vortex, Legion of the Lost, Final Defence, Legion, Endeavour and Revolter.
