Conservatoire Folk Ensemble

Conservatoire Folk Ensemble is a large touring folk group directed by Joe, who has led the ensemble since 1998. Under his direction, it grows into a 50-piece touring act in its own right, and its line-up can reach up to 100 members depending on the venue.

The group releases a DVD in 2007 and the album Sardines in 2009. It also tours across the UK each year at the end of May or the beginning of June.

Beyond performance, the ensemble functions as a training ground for younger folk musicians, and many artists who become prominent in the folk scene have spent time in the group.
