Congo Faith Healers
Congo Faith Healers is a band with a distinctive live sound built around gravelly vocals and heavy grooves. The group combines a range of influences, with references to Tom Waits, Led Zeppelin and David Lynch-like atmosphere often used to describe their style.
The band has a culturally varied line-up: a drummer from the Congo, a double bass player from Croatia, an acoustic guitarist from the streets of Paris, and a singer-songwriter described as a wandering poet from an undisclosed continent. This mix of backgrounds feeds into the band’s sound and image.
The group appears in live settings and festival line-ups, and it supports acts including KT Tunstall, Razorlight, Finley Quaye and Supergrass. It also appears as special guests on Mark Lamarr’s BBC Radio 2 show Gods Jukebox, where it is interviewed and performs five songs live.
Congo Faith Healers also performs at a Jack Daniel’s-sponsored event in Dubai, which leads to an extended tour of the Middle East and South Africa. The band appears on the main stage at the Gibson Centenary shows on the Embankment and at various festivals.
