Communions

Communions is a Copenhagen group active since 2013. It is made up of Jacob Van Deurs Formann, Frederik Lind Köppen, Mads Rehof and Martin Rehof.

Background

The band comes out of Copenhagen’s wider punk and alternative scene and rehearses in the same four-wall space associated with fellow Copenhagen acts Iceage and Lower. That space is part of Mayhem, a studio and venue complex in Copenhagen that also sits alongside much of the city’s newer punk, industrial and synth activity.

Style and release history

Communions plays post-punk and indie rock with an emphasis on melody and song writing. Its debut EP, Cobblestones, contains four tracks that focus on the emotions of young adulthood with unusual precision and honesty.
