Coma

Coma is a Polish rock band from Łódź, active from 1998 to the present. The group forms around vocalist Piotr Rogucki, guitarists Dominik Witczak and Marcin Kobza, bassist Rafał Matuszak, drummer Adam Marszałkowski and Paweł Cieślak, who handles electronics and synchro.

History

The band forms in Łódź in 1998, with Dominik Witczak on guitar and Tomasz Stasiak on drums among the original members. Wojciech Grenda later leaves the group in 2001 and Stasiak leaves in 2008. Coma records its debut single, Skaczemy / Pasażer, in 2000, before releasing its first album, Pierwsze Wyjście z Mroku, in 2004. After winning the Rock Festival in Węgorzewo, the band becomes widely known in Poland.

Its second album, Zaprzepaszczone Siły Wielkiej Armii Świętych Znaków, appears in 2006. In 2008, after a change of drummer, Coma releases the double concept album Hipertrofia.

Coma’s later catalogue includes Live, Symfonicznie and Excess in 2010, Czerwony Album in 2011, Don’t Set Your Dogs On Me in 2013, COMA live Przystanek Woodstock 2014 in 2014, 2005 YU55 in 2016, Metal Ballads vol. 1 in 2017, Demo in 2018, Sen o 7 szklankach in 2019 and Coma Live Pol’and’Rock Festival 2024.

Activity

The band disbands in 2019 and later returns in 2024. Its style is described as Polish alternative rock and rock.
