City of the Sun

City of the Sun is an instrumental group from the United States, active since 2010. The group consists of Zach Para, John Pita and Avi Snow.

Their sound centres on acoustic instrumentation, built from two guitars, a box and bells. It is described as ranging across wide-screen post-rock dynamics and gypsy jazz syncopations, with a strongly international feel.

The group’s music is associated with indie, guitar-driven and post-rock settings, but it remains firmly instrumental rather than vocal-led. Its arrangements rely on texture, rhythm and interplay between the three players.
