Chris Young

Chris Young is an American country music singer and songwriter from Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He begins his music career in 2002 and wins the fourth season of the television competition Nashville Star in 2006. After that win, he signs to RCA Records Nashville and releases his self-titled debut album the same year.

Career

Young’s early singles from his debut album include “Drinkin’ Me Lonely” and “You’re Gonna Love Me”, both of which reach the Hot Country Songs chart. His second album, The Man I Want to Be, includes the singles “Voices”, “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song)”, and the title track, all of which reach number one. His third album, Neon, produces two more number ones, “Tomorrow” and “You”, in 2011, along with the top five hit “I Can Take It from There” in 2012.

In 2013, he releases A.M., which produces the top five singles “Aw Naw”, “Who I Am with You”, and “Lonely Eyes”. His fifth album, I’m Comin’ Over, is also part of his recorded output. He becomes a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2017. Over the course of his career, he wins awards from the Academy of Country Music, the Country Music Association, and the CMT Music Awards.

Collaborations

Young works with a number of other artists, including Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, Tim McGraw, and Eric Church. He remains active as a touring performer in the United States.
