Chris Woods Groove

Chris Woods Groove is the performance name used by guitarist Chris Woods, who begins recording and performing under this name in 2013. The project centres on instrumental guitar music and is associated with neo-classical composition and drop-tuned grooves.

Woods tours widely across the UK, Ireland and Switzerland, and also performs in the USA and in several European countries. His live work combines music with spoken stories, forming a performance style that is both instrumental and narrative-led.

He has a regular techniques section in Acoustic Magazine, has a signature stomp box, and holds a publishing deal with Hal Leonard. His playing is described in relation to acoustic guitar technique and original composition, and he is known for an approach that places emphasis on extended instrumental pieces and distinctive tuning.
