Chimpo is a Manchester-based UK grime, garage and dub producer and DJ. He has been active since his teens, starting out as a jungle DJ at 13 on worn-out Soundlab belt-drive turntables, and from 16 onwards working across hip hop, jungle, garage, grime and soul.

Career

He makes dubstep, grime, garage and dub-related music, and his first solo release is the track Kryptonite. That release is followed by a string of tracks including Dead, Lock Off and Ruffest Tuffest. He works closely with Zed Bias and MRK1, and has material due on both of their labels.

Collaborations and releases

Chimpo and MRK1 also plan a collaborative album titled Totally Unauthorized, which features illegal remixes of Lil Wayne, The Game, UGK and other artists. He is associated with the Box N Lock label and is linked with Levelz and Richie Brains.
