Cherry Ghost
Cherry Ghost is a folk group from Bolton, United Kingdom, active since 2005. The band members are Simon Aldred, Grenville Harrop, Ben Parsons and Jim Rhodes. They are associated with Cherry Ghost Music Ltd.
Cherry Ghost form in Manchester in 2005 and play British rock with a folk and indie-pop profile. They receive considerable airplay on BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music. Their debut album, Thirst For Romance, enters the UK album chart at number 7.
The band’s second album, Beneath This Burning Shoreline, takes three years to make and appears in 2010. It centres on themes of revenge, loss, hope and resilience. In 2008, Cherry Ghost win an Ivor Novello Award for “People Help The People”, which recognises Simon Aldred’s songwriting. They also support Amy Winehouse, Doves, Crowded House and Smog.
