Chantel McGregor is a British rock and blues musician, singer and guitarist. She starts playing guitar at the age of three and begins formal lessons at seven. By eight, she becomes the youngest person in the country to pass a Rockschool grade. She later adds singing to her performances and begins playing at the weekly jam session at the Melborn Hotel in Bradford when she is twelve.

A major label shows interest when she is fourteen, but she refuses advice to change her guitar style. She performs on national television and radio, then steps back from live work to concentrate on exams while continuing to write and record. After passing her A levels, she chooses music and studies at Leeds College of Music, where she completes a BTEC in Popular Music with a perfect pass record and becomes the first student in the college’s history to achieve 100% across the course. She then progresses to the degree course, wins the prize for outstanding musicianship for 2006/7, and graduates with a first-class honours degree in Popular Music in July 2009, alongside an award for guitar.

After finishing her studies, she performs both solo and with her band across the UK and appears at festivals in the UK and Europe. Her debut album, Like No Other, includes the track “Help Me”, which is included on Universal Records’ worldwide release 100 Years of The Blues. In September 2011, she wins Young Artist of the Year at the British Blues Awards.

Her style is associated with rock blues and blues rock, and she is described in relation to guitarists and singers including Robin Trower, Bonnie Raitt, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Bonamassa and Walter Trout.
