Celine Cairo is a Dutch singer-songwriter from Amsterdam, born in 1990. She grows up in the centre of the city with her parents and brother, and begins singing from an early age. After her parents divorce, she takes vocal lessons and later learns guitar, which leads her into songwriting.
As a teenager, she enters the Rozentuin Festival competition and wins first prize, which helps her continue performing. She goes on to play at a range of venues in Amsterdam, including Paradiso, Sugar Factory, Badcuyp, Sappho and Rozentheater. Her work is described as singer-songwriter music, and she is also associated with acoustic and soul settings.
After releasing a couple of EPs, Cairo issues her debut album, Free Fire, in 2016. The album is recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Bill Lefler, who also works with Dotan and Laura Jansen.
