Cedric Burnside

Cedric Burnside is an American blues musician from DeSoto County, United States. He is a drummer, guitarist, singer and songwriter, and his work spans blues, blues rock, classic blues, country blues, electric blues and hill country blues.

Background

Born in 1978, Burnside is the grandson of North Mississippi blues figure R.L. Burnside. He builds on that family connection while working as a performer in his own right within the Mississippi blues tradition.

Career

Burnside spends many years touring internationally with Lightnin' Malcolm as the Juke Joint Duo before forming Cedric Burnside Project. He is associated with Cedric Burnside Project as his main group.

Awards

He wins the Blues Music Awards for Best New Artist Debut for The Two Man Wrecking Crew and later receives Drummer of the Year recognition in 2010.
