Cat Green Bike

Cat Green Bike is the musical project of Xenia Randle, who plays ukulele, saw and zither. The act is based in Bristol and begins as a solo project, with occasional help from other musicians. Early guest contributors include El Heath and Robert Glover of Epic45.

Randle starts playing ukulele at the end of 2007 and gives her first live performances in February 2008, including a set at Urban & Eastern’s Ukelear Meltdown in Newcastle. In January 2009, Cat Green Bike adds a second member, Joseph Urwin, on guitar.

The project’s sound centres on plucked ukulele lines and low, guitar-based counterpoint, and is described in terms of folk, indie, lo-fi and progressive folk influences. Its material is associated with a small-scale, eccentric style and a dry, understated vocal delivery.
