Casual Silence

Casual Silence is a progressive rock group from the Netherlands. It forms in 1993, originally as a rock cover band, before developing into a melodic rock act that performs mainly original material. The band’s songs draw on autobiographical lyrics and influences from rock, symphonic rock and progressive metal, and its sound develops into a distinct style of its own.

Career

The group releases its debut album, Bad Side Memories, in 1997. Two years later it follows with the mini-disc Shamelessly Dressed, after which the name Casual Silence appears more often in pop and rock magazines and the band establishes itself more firmly in the regional rock scene.

At the end of 2000, keyboard player David Natali leaves and Henry Meeuws joins, known from his solo project Medea. The band then works on new material and releases Once In A Blue Moon in 2003. That album brings praise in the media and leads to live dates with acts including Tony MacAlpine & Virgil Donati, Epica, Focus, Alquin, Kayak, Jadis, Landmarq, The Watch, Pain of Salvation and Saga.

Later in 2003, the group releases the DVD Live at Plato, recorded as a presentation of Once in a Blue Moon.

Lost In Life

Casual Silence releases its fourth album, Lost In Life, in 2007. The record is a concept album and features guest vocals from Sandra Peeters of V-Male and Damian Wilson, who is associated with Landmarq, Threshold, Aina, Rick Wakeman, Ayreon and Star One. The album contains eight tracks: “Goliath Theme”, “Lost In Life”, “Escape”, “Memories”, “Dress Code”, “Masquerade”, “Pieces Of Loss” and “A Kiss Or A Bite”.
