Cars On Fire
Cars On Fire are a Bristol-based quartet formed in 2006. They play a mix of post-hardcore, alternative rock, rock and punk, and are associated with the UK underground heavy music scene.
Activity and recording
The band build their sound around fast, aggressive riffs and strongly melodic choruses. Their mini-album Dig Your Own Grave is released on Undergroove Records and is produced by Jason Wilcock, who also works with The Ghost Of A Thousand, Senser and Reuben. It appears in 2009 and includes seven tracks, among them “Modus Operandi” and “Sharks”.
Style and live reputation
Their music is described through references to the intensity of The Refused and the heavy riffing of Helmet, combined with memorable hooks. The band spend two years building experience on the live circuit, and their reputation rests on pairing heavy guitar work with choruses that are designed to be immediately catchy.
Critical attention
Cars On Fire attract attention from music press figures including Katie Parsons of Kerrang and Darren Sadler of Rocksound, who both comment on the band’s energy, loudness and potential.
