Cage The Elephant is an alternative rock group from Bowling Green, United States, active from 2006. The band’s line-up includes Matt Shultz on vocals, Brad Shultz on guitar, Nick Bockrath on guitar, Daniel Tichenor on bass and vocals, Jared Champion on drums, and Matthan Minster on keyboard, vocals and guitar; Lincoln Parish is also listed among the members.
Sound and style
The group’s music sits within alternative rock and related styles including indie rock, garage rock, garage rock revival, neo-psychedelia and acoustic rock. Their songs are described in terms of both strong hooks and more unsettled, jittery rhythms and riffs.
Breakthrough and chart success
Their breakthrough single is “Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked”, which reaches number 83 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 32 on the UK Singles Chart, and number 3 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. The track also appears as the intro music for the 2009 video game Borderlands.

The band releases a sixth full-length album, Neon Pill. Their song “Cigarette Daydreams” appears on the soundtrack of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 video game, “Goodbye” appears in The Summer I Turned Pretty, and “Trouble” is used in a global campaign for Amazon Prime.
