Bwana is the solo project of Belgian singer-songwriter and producer Friedel Dufait, based in Oostende, Belgium. Dufait presents the project as a one-person band, performing as a singer, guitarist and producer, and writing original songs with personal lyrics, low guitar lines and a low singing voice.

Style and approach

The project combines electronic and guitar-based elements with a lo-fi sound. Dufait’s writing is direct and intimate, and the songs are built around restrained guitar parts and a deep vocal style. The project is associated with future garage and dubstep as well as electronic music.

Live profile

Bwana gains attention through live performances of original material. The project reaches the final stages of Sound Track 2021-2022 and is selected for Humo's Rock Rally 2022.
