Breabach
Breabach are a Scottish folk group formed in 2005. The band’s line-up includes Megan Henderson, James Duncan MacKenzie, Donal Brown, Patsy Reid, James Lindsay, Calum MacCrimmon and Ewan Robertson, and the group remains active.
Career
Breabach emerge on the folk roots scene after being nominated for Best Folk Band at the 2007 Scots Trad Music Awards, and they receive the same nomination again the following year. They appear several times at Celtic Connections in Glasgow and tour extensively around the UK and much of Europe.
Recordings
The band releases four albums: The Big Spree, The Desperate Battle of the Birds, Bann and Ùrlar.
Line-up
The original line-up consists of pipers Calum MacCrimmon and Donal Brown, fiddler Patsy Reid and guitarist Ewan Robertson. James Lindsay later joins on double bass. Donal Brown and Patsy Reid leave in early 2011 and are replaced by James Duncan MacKenzie and Megan Henderson.
