In the dark days of communism, one of the only ways for young Poles to travel was to join the sailing association. The songs they heard from tall ship crews around the world quickly became their songs of resistance and freedom. Brasy are one of the finest groups to emerge from this tradition and continue to sing and write songs of the sea to remember the struggles and sacrifices of their parents and grandparents.
